We are constantly working on the Park, adding trails, increasing the parking area, constructing buildings and cabins, etc. Below you will find some photos showing some progress with the Park, and also a link to our trail photos and rating system.

A road through one of the almost complete parking areas. Lots of trees and shade!

We found an old cemetery in the woods, covered over with brush and vines. After clearing it out and cleaning the grave markers, we found the stones so weathered the writing is no longer legible. Talking with some residents around the area leads us to believe the graves are from the mid 1800's, those of the land owner, some family members, and several slaves.

Lots of August haze made a colorful sunrise over the Eastern ridges.

We made a pond near the entrance, and in the foreground you can see the entrance driveway has just been cut.  In the background a small area has been cleared for registration parking.

One of the many residents of our new pond.  Lots of painted turtles and brightly colored frogs have already moved in.  We see lots of wildlife every day while working in the forest.

Clear mountain streams are part of the scenery at Highland Park.  This one is called Devil's Darning Needle Hollow Creek.
